SAI 6.5" Flexible Utility
Details
A utility knife is a medium-sized, multipurpose kitchen knife designed to bridge the gap between a paring knife and a chef's knife. It is ideal for tasks that require more precision than a larger blade but more length than a small paring knife. Utility knives excel at trimming, slicing smaller fruits and vegetables, cutting sandwiches, and handling medium-sized ingredients that are too large for a paring knife but too small for a chef's knife. Great for boning and skinning smaller meats and fish. The soft bend of the flexible blade makes it easier to cut around bones.
GLOBAL SAI, designed by renowned industrial designer Komin Yamada, pays homage to the Samurai tradition of sword making. The slightly longer curved ergonomic handle provides a comfortable grip and features 7 signature black dots which represent the 7 Samurai codes of honor and moral principles. The blade's edge is polished by hand for exceptional long-lasting endurance. The unique thumb rest gives added comfort and control. Each blade is individually hammered by hand and designed so that small hollows create air pockets between the blade so food elegantly falls away from the surface.
